The Galapagos Islands – Ecuador

This tour gives you the opportunity to discover different trails to the highest and most spectacular places on each island. While hiking in some of the most unique natural surroundings in the world, it is perfect to stop, take a picture and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes! kayaking, and also boat rides.

    Day 1: Fragata Hill (trekking) or Tijeretas Hill – Interpretation Center
    Upon arrival at San Cristobal Airport our local guide will welcome you and begin the excursion towards the Fragata or Tijeretas hill. Later on, we will visit the Interpretation Center of San Cristobal. Return to hotel and lodging. -/L/-

    Day 2: San Cristobal Island – Leon Dormido – Puerto Grande
    We will navigate to Lobos Island where we will walk around the island. Here we will observe colonies of sea lions or we will continue on to the famous Leon Dormido (Kicker Rock) where we can watch the high-flying boobies and frigate birds. Our main recreation here will be snorkeling and we will have the opportunity to swimming with rays, seals, iguanas, multicolored fish, and much more. The same day we will continue on to Puerto Grande with its beautiful
    white sand beach to enjoy a well-deserved rest and a box lunch. B/BL/-

    Day 3: San Cristobal Island – Santa Cruz Island – Puerto Ayora – Charles Darwin Research Station – Tortuga Bay (trekking)
    We will navigate to Santa Cruz Island, one of the most important islands in the Archipelago because this is where most of the hotels and tourist accommodations are located. After arrival, we will visit the important Charles Darwin Research Station where can observe one of the largest Galapagos tortoises and land iguanas breeding centers. Lunch in the village. In the afternoon, we will walk to Tortuga Bay in order to relax in the beach. Return to the hotel and lodging. B/L/-B/L/-

    Day 4: Private Reserve Cerro Mesa – Santa Cruz
    Today we are going to the Private Reserve Cerro Mesa. There we will hike for about 5 hours trough a tropical landscape. We will be able to see the “Gran Crater” Volcano as well as a lagoon where a unique species of turtles live. There also is a lookout where you can see the whole island as well as other islands if the weather conditions are good. We will have lunch in the Restaurant at the park. In the afternoon, we will go to the bay to snorkel. Return to hotel and lodging. B/L/-

    Day 5: Bay Tour – Isabela Island
    In the morning, we will tour through the bayand visit Punta Estrada, the Germans’ Beach, Channels of Love and the Grietas. During this tour, we will be able to watch marine birds and sea lions and be able to surface dive. Lunch in Puerto Ayora. Then we will be transferred to Isabela Island. Accommodation /L/-

    Day 6: Sierra Negra Volcano – Chico Volcano (trekking)
    Our guide will meet you at the hotel and take you to one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world. The crater of this volcano called Sierra Negra is approximately 7 kilometers in diameter. Then we will have a long trekking tour of five to six hours towards Chico Volcano where we will walk through the fumaroles of this active volcano and look down on the sea. Return to the hotel and lodging. B/BL/-

    Day 7: The Tunnels of Cape Rosa – Tintoreras
    Prepare yourself for one of the best days of this trip! After sailing for 45 minutes from Puerto Villamil, we will reach Cape Rosa on the western side of the island. This is one of the most beautiful and amazing places nature has bestowed upon humankind.

    Here we can walk over the connected lava tunnels situated in the blue sea waters. From the surface, we will very easily be able to see dozens of sea turtles, penguins and rays and we will also be able to do snorkeling and swimming alongside this rich marine fauna. As we navigate to and from Isabela, we will see manta rays of different sizes that will make this trip different, and if it is the mating season, we will see them diving upside down on the surface, waiting to have their pictures taken. After lunch, we will visit Tintoreras Islet. Here a colony ofwhite tip sharks can often be seen resting in a lava canal. You can use our kayaks, snorkel and swim in the unique endemic habitat of these animals. Nearby hundreds of marine iguanas can be observed, as “Las Tintoreras” is one of their main breeding sites. On the nearby sandy beaches, sea lions play and relax in the sun. B/BL/-

    Day 8: Isabela Island – Santa Cruz Island – Baltra – Quito / Guayaquil
    We will have an early departure to take the public speed boat to Puerto Ayora. We will have breakfast in town and transfer from Puerto Ayora to Baltra Island (Airport) by private taxi. On this day passengers will be given the opportunity to visit the Twin Craters. Passengers can also take an inter-island 30-minute flight that connects with the flight to the continent: Baltra – Quito / Guayaquil (No flight on Sundays). Choosing this option, the visit to the Twin Craters will not be possible. B/-/-

    Every passenger MUST bring their own medical insurance, otherwise they will not be able to enter the Galapagos Islands.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    ✓ Procure Medical and/or Travel insurance prior to your trip.
    ✓ Luggage: We suggest you take a 10kg suitcase and a carry on. This is what is allowed by the local airlines. Please bear in mind that trips in Galapagos take place outdoors and include hikes, swimming, scuba diving, and other physical activities that require comfortable, lightweight, informal clothing.
    ✓ Clothing: For the hot months (December — May) we recommend a bathing suit, T-shirts, shorts, sunglasses, cap or hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, sport shoes that are good for walking in lava and rocks, and sandals. For the cooler months (June — November), a waterproof jacket or poncho and light pants are necessary. Other important items are lip balm, eye drops, waterproof bags for electronic equipment, binoculars, patches or pills for sea sickness, a photo or video camera and enough film, batteries, chargers and any personal medications that you normally take.

    ✓ If you would like to dive, we will be pleased to offer you daily diving tours starting from Santa Cruz, Isabela and San Cristobal Islands [minimum of 4 divers per each excursion].
